Culture week closer
Signature activity for the last day of culture week. Fits with all students of one year (or several years combined) in the auditorium or adapted gym, same narrative for 30 or 200.
Live cluedo in English for international schools, bilingual academies, language schools and universities with international programmes in Madrid. A real immersion session with professional actors, written clues in English and team debate. Designed for students aged 14 and up.
For bilingual schools, academies and universities with international programmes, The Tailor's Murder is a 66-minute session of applied English in real context: professional actors playing the suspects live, written clues in English, deduction and debate in competing teams with live ranking. Works as culture-week closer, immersion activity or special day outside the regular syllabus. Minimum age 14. We operate at the school or at an external venue. Up to 500 students in one session with the same narrative. Under MAD Escape Room since 2016 — 10+ years track record, also with educational institutions (CEU, Universidad de Alcalá and other Madrid centres).
Signature activity for the last day of culture week. Fits with all students of one year (or several years combined) in the auditorium or adapted gym, same narrative for 30 or 200.
Specific English immersion session for a year, cycle or cohort. Works as complement to an exchange, intercambio or Cambridge/IB preparation programme.
For schools and universities with English programmes (IB, BIBE, dual degrees): cluedo as cohort closer, term end or international welcome day.
Students listen to live actors (not canned audio), read clues in written English and have to argue among themselves about the solution. It's English in use, not English "for the exam". Especially good as complement to programmes needing oral output.
The content (simulated murder case, no graphic or inappropriate elements) fits secondary 4º ESO upwards, baccalaureate and university. Below 14 we discourage it by audience maturity — and we say so before the proposal.
The full block (briefing + 66 min + ranking) is 90 minutes. Fits a special-day morning, an afternoon slot or as the closer of culture week.
Same narrative for a class of 25 or a cohort of 250. Useful for culture weeks bringing several years together. We modulate teams, cast and tech for size.
We come to the school auditorium, adapted gym, large library, university main hall or academy room. We also move to an external venue (rented hall, museum, cultural space) if the day requires it.
For Francophone schools or programmes with French sections, we operate in French (same +15 % surcharge). And for Spanish-only culture weeks (no bilingual component), the Spanish version is available with no surcharge.
We slotted it as the closer of culture week with 1st and 2nd of baccalaureate. The most surprising thing: students who barely speak in class got into discussing clues in English with their teams. The hard part of bilingual is spontaneous oral output, and the cluedo triggers it on its own.
Honestly: the cluedo is an experience, not an English class. What it offers is 66 minutes of applied English in context: students listen to live actors, read written clues, deduce and argue in teams. Works as immersion activity or culture-week closer — not as a substitute for the syllabus.
From 14 years old. Narrative, twists and pace are designed for teenagers and young adults. Below 14 doesn't fit by audience maturity.
B1 onwards to follow comfortably. Mixed B1 groups: actors moderate pace and vocabulary. Hints combine visual and verbal elements.
Actors act as gamemasters throughout, holding pace and attention. Competing-teams ranking absorbs teenage energy naturally. We recommend coordinating teacher attendance.
Yes. We come to your school: auditorium, adapted gym, large library, university main hall or academy room. We need space for tables/chairs in groups of 5, projector or white wall and outlets. 30 min set-up, 20 min strike.
Approximately €1,700-1,800 ex. VAT in Spanish or €1,950-2,050 ex. VAT in English (+15 % surcharge). Indicative; full calculator at pricing. We invoice the school with itemised Spanish VAT (21 %).
Minimum 2-3 weeks for small/medium groups. For full cohorts (200+ students) we recommend 4-6 weeks.
